New Staff Quarters for Esuk Enwang Health Centre: Elevating Community Healthcare

To address this, a new project for building staff quarters that include one block with two 2-bedroom flats and another block with three 1-bedroom flats.

The Esuk Enwang Health Centre has been a key provider of essential primary healthcare services in the rural community of Esuk Enwang, Akwa Ibom State, Nigeria, since 1996. However, the centre has struggled with staffing due to its remote location, which makes it hard to keep medical professionals long-term. To address this, a new project for building staff quarters that include one block with two 2-bedroom flats and another block with three 1-bedroom flats. This development will offer modern and secure living spaces for doctors and nurses right on-site. It will also provide comfortable living conditions, and attract and keep skilled medical professionals. This will help lower staff turnover and ensure that patients receive consistent care from experienced practitioners. Having healthcare personnel living on-site means they are available immediately. This closeness is crucial for responding to medical emergencies. It can lead to quicker treatment for urgent cases and may even save lives. This initiative supports broader goals of promoting fair healthcare access. By investing in infrastructure that supports healthcare workers, the project encourages sustainable growth and resilience, ensuring that healthcare remains available even in underserved areas. Through these improvements, the Esuk Enwang Health Centre aims to strengthen its role in the community and provide better health outcomes for all residents.
